There’s no doubt that weight loss is a good indication of progress. However, there are other “non-scale” victories you should celebrate along your fitness journey. Here’s a few:

  1. Your clothes don’t fit: Meaning, they’re too BIG! Yep, if you can step into those size 12 jeans that were once a struggle to get on, give yourself a high-5! When your clothes start to feel too big, this is truly a sign that you are moving in the right direction.
  2. Your body fat has lowered: When you’re burning fat and building muscle, the scale doesn’t know the difference. A general scale will just give you an overall number of how much you weigh. However, a decrease in body fat (even when there is no overall weight loss), is a sign that you are burning fat and building muscle…pat yourself on the back!
  3. You’ve embraced healthier habits: Do you find it easier to say “no” to the fast food you used to crave? Are you drinking more water per day? Are you gradually getting stronger in the gym? These are all examples of “non-scale” victories that you should be proud of!
